Fetish parties: goth fans, spanking stations, New Wave music…

Promoted as the Valley’s most authentic ‘fetish’ night, the roving party that is Club Hell recently took over Shake!, the popular indie rock night at Scottsdale’s Rogue Bar.

Hosted by DJ NFIN8 and his Phoenix-based Hell On Earth Productions, Club Hell has been hoisting its freak flag at nightclubs across the Valley for more than two years, drawing crowds of up to 350 once a month.

Authentic Fetish Fun

Inspired by NFIN8’s regular pilgrimages to Los Angeles fetish hot spots such as Bar Sinister, Perversion and Miss Kitty’s, the 30 year-old DJ and promoter says Club Hell is an attempt to bring a fetish-industrial vibe to Phoenix.

Figuring he was not the only fetish fan looking for a more bona fide experience, NFIN8, who prefers to be identified by his stage name, and a few friends set out to create an event “true to the fetish community.”

That means working with Mistress Porsche Lynne, the dominatrix who runs the Valley’s Den of Indomitus dungeon, and The Next Generation: Arizona, a bondage, domination and sadomasochism group that, according to its Web site, is a “social and educational organization dedicated to exploring different aspects of alternative sexuality for people between 18 and 39 years old.”

Club Hell nights are notorious for titillating tidbits such as spanking stations and performances by the Deadly Sins go-go dancers.

An unpretentious community

If the allure of a spanking station isn’t immediately obvious, NFIN8 explains that the central appeal is the lack of hidden agendas.

“It’s not a sex club, but it is a sexual atmosphere,” he says. “At mainstream nightclubs, the sexuality is underlying, at fetish clubs, it’s out in the open and people can have a lot more fun with it.”

The fetish lifestyle cuts across all demographics, judging from July’s Club Hell party, with a range of revelers, about half men and half women, representing different ages, professions and degrees of outlandish dress.

“We have everything from professional dominatrixes to doctors,” NFIN8 says. As the organizer, he strives to cultivate an atmosphere that appeals to all types, from goth fans coming for the mix of industrial and New Wave music, to curiosity seekers looking to be entertained by the performers and patrons, to fetish fans attracted by the dress-to-impress atmosphere. He does this by mixing up the hosting venues, from indie clubs to lounges to gay bars, and by providing different types of entertainment including traditional dominatrix shows and campier, less aggressive go-go girls.
